Among the leaks and previews on the MCU published in these hours by the well-known insider Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, there is one in particular which concerns the next appearance of Captain Carterthe character played by the actress Hayley Atwell.
According to the journalist, Peggy Carter “will return in the third season of What If…? and it will be too one of the main characters of Avengers:Secret Wars“, the final chapter of the Multiverse Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: as the crossover project is expected to draw characters from across the MCU Multiverse for an epic battle possibly even bigger than that seen in Avengers: Endgame, it makes sense that Marvel Studios would want to include Peggy Carter as wellwho has recently become one of the most popular characters in the franchise, perhaps also in view of a possible reunion with Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.
It is therefore expected that Hayley Atwell will reprise the role of Captain Carter, which appeared in several episodes of the Disney+ animated series What If…? over the course of its first two seasons. Additionally, as you may recall, the actress also played a live-action variant of Captain Carter, who came from Earth-838 and was a member of the Illuminati, as seen in the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
