The April 30th and May 2ndthe Circolo Controtempo of Gorizia, a cultural beacon of jazz in Friuli Venezia Giulia, celebrates theInternational Jazz Day 2024. This year, the event stands out for its international spirit, highlighting the impact of jazz on society and transforming urban spaces into global stages.

Boštjan Simon, a well-known Slovenian saxophonist, and the documentary film “Berchidda Live” are at the center of the celebrations. Simon, with his project “Fermented Reality”, will explore the fusion between acoustic and electronic sounds April 30th at the Arci Gong of Gorizia, free entry. His unique approach uses the saxophone and a modular synthesizer to create a synergy of sounds, through an interaction between percussion modules and oscillators.

The May 2, the Kinemax in Gorizia will host the screening of “Berchidda Live”, a journey into the iconic “Time in Jazz” festival, created by Paolo Fresu. The film, edited by Gianfranco Cabiddu, Michele Mellara and Alessandro Rossi, mixes unpublished materials from 25 years of the festival, offering a unique look at past editions through a vibrant mix of music and memories. Tickets available at the price of 5 euros.
