There Sambenedettese Basketball wins Abruzzo Under 17 Excellence Cup closing the tournament played with the best teams from Abruzzo and Molise undefeated. An important and prestigious result that follows the third place obtained at the end of the regular season, finishing behind only Roseto and Lanciano (who, however, unlike the rossoblù, carry out important recruiting work at an international level in particular). Second best scorer of the cup is Nathan Marino with 21 points per game. These are Coach’s statements Piero Bianchi released on March 20th:

“I’m happy for our 2007 and 2008 youngsters, who have been training hard since September. All of them have improved, both in mastery of individual fundamentals and in knowledge of game situations, and beyond results this is the real objective of a youth sector. It’s just a shame that some of them, potentially capable of joining the Samb first team on a permanent basis, are not willing to invest more convincingly in themselves as players. But it’s a step that I still have time to take. As for me, 27 years on the bench at senior level (and four promotions) should have inoculated me against all emotions. But a title is still a title, even if it’s small, and winning is always nice.”

This is the roster of the Sambenedettese Basket under 17 Eccellenza: Camplese Lorenzo, Carboni Davide, Di Emidio Davide, Di Nicola Leonardo, Fazzini Cristiano, Kabunda Djoe Omer, Larizza Flavio, Marino Nathan, Marziani Andrea, Mudimbi Morgan, Quinzi Mattia, Roccasecca Emanuele, Simonella Samuele, Vazquez Maggiolo Silvano. Head Coach Piero Bianchi, Assistant Simone Marini, Athletic Trainer Prof. Marina Cappelli, Youth Sector Manager Marco Borgognoni
