Shortly after its debut on PlayStation 5 which took place on April 26th, rumors had spread about a million copies of Stellar Blade sold in 24 hours, but Shift Up it had not yet released official data regarding the commercial results of its Action/Adventure. Now, however, we have certainties.
The Korean studio officially confirmed that Stellar Blade sold a million copies from launch to date. The reports according to which the adventure of Eve had been able to place so many units in a single day, this however does not change the fact that for Shift Up it is still a matter of a success considering the availability of the game at the moment only on a single platform (PS5 precisely), the fact that it is a new intellectual property and the fact that the company before the debut of Stellar Blade was not so popular globally.
Shift Up also confirmed that the Stellar Blade demo released a few weeks before the full version’s debut was more successful than the demo version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirthwith numbers more than double those achieved by the branded work Square Enix. The director Kim Hyung-tae he then confirmed that his team is working not only on a PC porting of Stellar Blade, but also on any future DLC and a sequel, with the latter in any case very far from becoming reality.
However, one thing appears clear: Stellar Blade seems destined to become a real franchise in the future, in light of the success achieved so far.
