The IO app promises to be the main application for all Italian citizens: it will also be used by the tax authorities to communicate.
There is certainly one of the most talked about issues by Italian citizens that which concerns communications with the Public Administration which, even today despite technological progress, are still very complex and very often do not allow people to resolve doubts in a simple and immediate way. Fortunately, in recent years the situation has improved slightly also thanks to new features and new uses added to the IO app.
The IO app is the application reserved for all Italian citizens which has been used several times in the past for various purposes: initially it was used by several people to take advantage of the holiday bonus while subsequently, during the Covid-19 pandemic, it was used as a platform to host the Green Pass.
Nowadays, with rare exceptions, this application has fallen into disuse, but soon fundamental functions will be added for all citizens. This is a real relaunch for the platform, which will be enriched with new features.
IO App: it will soon also be used by the Revenue Agency
It was already announced some time ago that the IO app will be back in effect for all citizens when there will be the definitive transition to IT Wallet: this is a new element for the management of the digital identity of Italians which is practically the natural evolution of the SPID, whose run is about to come to an end. IT Wallet, as specified several times in recent months in which it has often been talked about, will not just be an enhanced version of the SPID.
IT Wallet will be added to the other functions already present on IO such as the possibility of managing your payments and credit cards or monitoring the status of applications on the Revenue Agency and INPS portal and soon it will be possible to receive communications from the tax authorities directly via the application without getting stuck on the pages of the online portal.
There really is no escape: through this novelty it will no longer be possible to ignore deadlines and tax obligations given that they will be communicated through private messages on the app as if they were messages received on WhatsApp. In this way it will not only be easier to interface with the Revenue Agency and other Public Administration offices, but the risk of phishing and smishing is also reduced to a minimum via email and SMS.
