“2K has secured the official license to create the next FIFA video game,” the retailer wrote. “The collaboration has been confirmed, therefore 2K will develop the new series of football games. FIFA 2K25 is scheduled to launch this year, just in time for the 2026 World Cup.”
The feeling is that the post was not written based on new information, but rather the latest rumors relating to FIFA and 2K Games. Furthermore, the reference to the World Cup, which will take place in 2026, is not clear.
The doubts
In general, from a timing point of view there are many doubts related to this rumor, given that nowadays the work necessary to create a video game from scratch takes several years and the divorce between FIFA and Electronic Arts is relatively recent.
