Ragusa card? The fault of the mayors and Coldiretti! – ReteIblea

It could have been a good opportunity for some local politician to truly stand up as a defender of the farmers of our area. Instead, that document which had immediately met with the favor and interest of the Spontaneous protest movement which brings together Iblei breeders, producers and consumers, remained a “White Paper” in fact to this day the important programmatic line has not yet seen the light and the Iblean agri-food sector awaits answers.
Yet it was an idea launched by Cassì himself at the first sign of protest in front of the forum several months ago. The proposal could find favor with both politics and the bureaucratic part of the region. The mayors, many of them to be honest, then limited themselves to participating with the tricolor sash in a few events in Palermo but nothing concrete. Why would a coordinator have been needed, a political guide who, after having drawn up the Ragusa Charter with the needs of the farmers, would have had to take it to the appropriate places and have it shared by affixing not only the signature of the councilor or the president but also the resolutions consequential.
A missed opportunity, don’t take it amiss, precisely for Cassì who, thanks to the electoral consensus but also to the various compliments he receives from every regional councilor who comes to Ragusa, could have banged a few fists on the Palermo table and not left until when he had not received concrete answers. But Peppe, as he says, is not for loud politics even if he has to help some dying company. It’s a “bag” problem and those who have it full cannot understand those who are hungry.
But, according to the Protest Movement, Coldiretti itself is largely to blame, as it mockingly boasted of giving but which in reality, bitterly, we realized was just a pre-election bluff. Countless meetings have been held and as many invitations have been forwarded to Coldiretti without any response. It was not possible in any way to deal with the top management of Coldiretti.
The spontaneous movement of Iblei farmers, breeders, producers and consumers was evidently not considered an interlocutor worthy of listening, perhaps because it did not feel it had to join the yellow-green Palermo show of three weeks ago. The fact is that currently nothing of what Coldiretti had declared he had achieved has been followed up.
First of all, vouchers for farmers aimed at purchasing fodder.
All we have to do is note that what was declared on paper was nothing more than chatter and smoke and mirrors.
Someone could interpret such behavior as a disguised extortion of consensus and votes for the European elections given that the credibility of the aforementioned professional organization has now been lost.
Such hypotheses matter little to us.
What is a priority is to continue to keep the protest alive by strengthening its actions.
The spontaneous movement of Iblei farmers, breeders, producers and consumers, contrary to what was done by its employees and the private companies associated with it, which had become the slaves of mother Coldiretti, felt it necessary to involve the mayors and the diocese so that the right path can be traced management to interact at a regional and national level with the competent bodies.
Coldiretti’s attitude is considered truly unseemly towards the agricultural sector, as it highlights a real and concrete discrepancy between what was written, declared and what was actually obtained.
Such as the burdensome problem of debt moratorium.
A total lack of political will will lead to the closure and loss of hundreds of Sicilian private family-run businesses, which have so far survived amid myriad bureaucratic problems, regulatory loopholes and political blackmail.
«We had learned from the media about the success of Coldiretti and after the European elections, many of us confidently went to the polls and the day after the votes, we each turned to our own trade union organizations but – declares Giorgio Spadaro, a farmer from Modica – we learned, declared by the trade organizations themselves, that there was nothing to do or present and that we would have achieved nothing as everything remained as it was before… in short, a bluff! The breeders don’t like it!”
Furthermore, the movement reiterates its non-involvement in this perverse system and calls with determination for real union between all the principals, the spontaneous committees, the professional organizations in the sector, the mayors, the regional, national and European deputies, the party secretaries, the world of politics as a whole, to really address the problem of the debt moratorium since despite the press releases issued freely, companies must continue to pay if they want to avoid seizure.
There is an urgent need for recognition of the fair and correct cost of producing products and for real and immediate intervention to support the costs of feeding livestock.
We realize that this is the result of political choices that can be made but are not wanted!
