RAIANESI CYCLISTS IN THE LIGHT: DESTINATION OF THE ITALIAN YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS

The talent of the young cyclists from Raiano is preparing to shine at the next Italian youth road cycling championships that will take place on July 6 and 7 in Lucca. Among those called up, the names of the Ferrusi brothers stand out, Jacopo Pio in the Allievi category and Noemy in the Esordienti 2 category, both grown up in the Pedale Sulmonese cycling school, Noemy currently with Team Di Federico, an all-female team from Pescara.

Jacopo Pio Ferrusi, multidisciplinary athlete, regional MTB and cyclocross champion, will face his third consecutive call-up, ready to compete with opponents a year older than him. For Noemy Ferrusi, returning from a period of stoppage due to injury, this will be the second consecutive call-up, an ideal opportunity to make up for lost time and demonstrate her worth on the streets of Lucca.

Alongside the Ferrusis, Luca Santangelo and Federico Massucci, both from Raiano, were also named as first reserves for the national event. Despite some bad luck with the points needed for direct qualification, both continue to be a point of reference for growth and improvement in the world of youth cycling.

Seeing these boys obtain recognition at a national level is a great pride for the Pedale Sulmonese cycling school, chaired by Lorenzo Schiavo, and is the result of the work carried out in particular by the sports director Paolo Ferrusi, who trained the young athletes with dedication.

However, a felt absence will be that of Oscar Riccio from Castel di Sangro, also from Pedale Sulmonese, forced to renounce the call-up due to physical problems. Despite this unexpected event, the support and encouragement of the community will continue to motivate all cyclists competing.

The entire Abruzzo representative team is ready to demonstrate its value and determination in Lucca. Good luck to all participants!
