Beyond the damage the mockery? Luckily for Lando Norris it didn’t happen that way. It was a busy Sunday for the British McLaren driver. The rustic comparison with Max Verstappen for the stage success at Spielberghome of the last F1 weekend held, had its most interesting moment in the accident on lap 64.

Norris tried in every way to take the lead of the GP in Styria, but with equal determination Max tried to prevent him, going beyond the regulations and hitting Lando’s car several times. A duel that at the end of the fair ended with punctures and sanctions of varying amounts for both. The racing driver from the United Kingdom was however forced to retireundergoing 5″ penalty for going beyond the limits of the runway several times.

Norris, however, was unable to continue his progress due to the injuries he suffered. While Verstappen was penalised with 10″ to add to his time and finished in fifth place. At first it was thought that the standard bearer from Woking would have served his penalty in the next Silverstone GP, but this will not be the case.

WHAT HAPPENED?

When Lando returned to the pits to make the car’s retirement effective, the mechanics waited 5″ before touching the MCL38so that the penalty was served at that time. And so, in Great Britain, Norris will not be “ballasted” by what happened in Austrian territory and will want to take revenge against Red Bull and Verstappen.
