Vico del Gargano mourns coach Ninì: Gaetano Cotroneo has died

“Gaetano Cotroneo has left us. In offering him our emotional and final farewell, we want to remember how important he was for Vico del Gargano, how important he was for all of us.” The mayor of Vico, Raffaele Sciscio, remembered Ninì, as he was known to everyone.

“Ninì loved volleyball and passed on this love to many people, to many young people, girls and boys, making this sport a vehicle of values, friendship, sociability, authentic passion. As a young man he had played volleyball, even arriving in the series B. Later, together with many lifelong friends, he was among the protagonists of the Vico volleyball movement, first participating in the foundation of the “Volley San Marco” then giving life to the “Polisportiva San Pietro”, also winning two important promotions in chairs D As a coach he trained dozens of girls and boys, motivating them, making them passionate about a healthy, engaging sporting activity, always considering volleyball as a tool for growth and training, but also as a lever to fly high, to be happy in themselves and with others”.

“Everyone in Vico and in the entire province of Foggia knew and respected coach Niní, who represents volleyball in Vico. Everyone knew and appreciated the technical skills and above all the human value of the great Niní. This is why, on the day in which he is no longer here, we want to feel him even closer to us, paying the right homage to a person who was able to transmit and teach happiness through volleyball, to the girls and boys who followed and admired him, to his teammates who shared his path of commitment to sport, condolences and the most affectionate embrace go to his lifelong friends and family. You were a great Ninì, we will never forget you.”
