The new tricolor Alberto Bettiol was particularly excited: «My first race with my new Italian champion jersey will be in Florence, my hometown, for the start of the Tour de France. This year it’s really important for me: nI’m not very young anymore, nI don’t have many years ahead of me. Winning the Italian championship was one goal and another goal is to win a stage of the Tour de France. I have to make the most of all the opportunities that arise. Winning with this shirt on my shoulders would mean a lot to me. You have to be ready and you have to always fight, because winning in the Tour is not like winning in all the other races. It’s doubly difficult to win a stage in the Tour, especially for an all-rounder like me. I think the team is making a smart choice to go in stages. It will be fun and really exciting.”
