She is currently busy with the US national team in the summer and will be part of the Stars and Stripes expedition for the Paris Olympics.
She is the daughter of Bob Lanier, who passed away two years ago, NBA basketball legend, US basketball star in the 70s and 80s, first overall pick of the 1970 draft.

Career: Khalia Lanier started at school level in the Arizona Storm, then in college she played in NCAA Division I with Southern California University: where she obtained several individual awards (All America in 2017 and 2019). In the 2020-21 season she signed her first professional contract in the Italian Serie A1, signed by Bergamo, at the end of the year she played in Puerto Rico, where she participated in the Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino 2021 with Pinkin de Corozal, being awarded as best striker of the tournament. In the 22/23 season she returned to Volley Bergamo and achieved great results, qualifying for the Final Four of the Italian Cup and entering the top 8 at the end of the season with consequent participation in the playoffs and excellent individual statistics in attack and reception which put her in the sights of Prosecco DOC Imoco Volleyball. In her first season as a Pantera she gives her contribution to the fantastic poker of successes of coach Santarelli’s team.

“My first season at Prosecco DOC Imoco was better than I expected. Winning it all with this group of girls was truly special and it was a year I will never forget. I think the most important thing I learned was how to behave in such a high level team, learning the mentality that my teammates have to win when we are in difficulty or how to support those around you. That’s what makes a team like Imoco was so successful and it was a good lesson for my career. My personal goals are to continue to grow into a complete player and earn the trust of my teammates and coaching staff. As a team I think we have everything it takes to continue winning both in the league and in the Champions League, we will also have the goal of the World Cup. The opponents are many and strong, but we will be there.”
