Animated fairy tales, team games, small experiments and real water “magic” to think about a resource that cannot be taken for granted: just before the World Day to Fight Drought, promoted by the UN every year on 17 June, the 2024 edition of the Summer Open Days of EmiliAmbiente. In the months of June and July, the company’s educators will be present in 7 summer centers in the municipalities of Colorno, Fidenza, Soragna San Secondo P.se and Salsomaggiore Terme, offering educational workshops/games to be played in outdoor spaces – with contents designed specifically for measurement of the different age groups – on topics such as water saving, water footprint, hydrogeological cycle, water service and its sustainable management: around 400 children will be involved throughout the summer.

The “ribbon cutting” took place yesterday at the Summer Camp Rugby Colorno, in the presence of Christian Stocchi and Marco Giorgi, respectively Mayor of Colorno and General Director of EmiliAmbiente: doing the honors were Laura Guatelli, manager of the center summer Rugby Colorno, and Michele Mordacci, Technical Director of Minirugby Colorno.

The Summer Open Days are the “summer version” of the Water School, the Permanent Educational Laboratory of EmiliAmbiente SpA on the topic of water resources offered free of charge to schools since 2014; in the school year just ended, in its tenth edition, the project involved over 3,100 girls and boys aged 6 to 18 in 11 municipalities in the Parma area.

“An added value of the project – underlined the Mayor Stocchi – is to represent a joint educational effort. For the Summer Open Days, for example, EmiliAmbiente’s collaboration does not end with the member municipalities, but extends to the local entities that organize the summer centers, such as in this case Rugby Colorno”. “This reflects the company’s desire to open the project to the contribution and collaboration of the territory, to make it grow – echoed Director Giorgi – and is part of the commitment to create a “Water Culture”, included in our 2024-2029 Industrial Plan. Administrators, technicians, teachers, companies, young generations, simple citizens: we are all “Guardians of Water”, each for our own part, but necessarily together”.
