A minibus for “The Three Roses Rugby”
It was inaugurated in the courtyard of Palatium Vetus in Alessandria, in the presence of the local authorities, the new minibus purchased by the Amateur Sports Association “The three roses rugby”thanks to the generous contribution of Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation. The vehicle replaces the one supplied – old and no longer usable – and will be used to accompany the athletes to training and for team trips which, otherwise, would have been forced to withdraw from the Serie C championship in which they play.
A beautiful story with a happy ending for the team Casale rugby, a multi-ethnic team, made up mostly of young asylum seekers from sub-Saharan Africa. The idea of creating a rugby team to integrate young refugees was born several years ago and also overcame the obstacle of the pandemic. Now young athletes are about thirty and the team is facing the championship with good results. They were recently received, with their families, also by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and from Pope francesco.
“The foundation – states the president, notary Luciano Mariano – accepted this request due to the social value of the project. A notable social inclusion initiative that makes us proud to be able to contribute to improving the quality of life of these young people, many of whom are guests of social cooperatives and others have created their families in Italy and live in our territory. The choice of sport as a tool for social integration is a winning one as sport promotes interpersonal relationships and respect for rules, others and diversity, improves the ability to work in a group, contributes to strengthening the sense of being part of a team and a community. Congratulations to everyone involved in carrying out this project and good luck to the team!”
