The first four confirmations in the squad have arrived Rugby Viadana 1970 who will face the top Italian championship again next season.
A few days after the scudetto final played, we are already starting to think about next season and the squad of Rugby Viadana 1970 is taking shape and in a few weeks it will already be working to prepare to play in the top Italian rugby championship. A squad largely confirmed with some departures and some additions that will be announced in the coming weeks.
The first players confirmed are four, two forwards and two three-quarters who started in last Sunday’s Scudetto final. We are talking about: Marlon Mignucci, Michelangelo Mistretta, Patricio Baronio And Andrea Bronzini.
MARLON MIGNUCCI
Marlon is a young right prop born in 2000, born in San Benedetto del Tronto but now a Viadanese by adoption. A past in the yellow and black youth team, then the return home and in 2021 the arrival in the first team in Viadana. This will be the fourth season for him.
“It was an incredible year – says Marlon – we ended the regular season first in the standings and we managed to reach the final but above all we brought an entire country closer to rugby. I’m very proud of what we managed to do and I can’t wait to replicate next season with a small change in the ending because the defeat left us with a bad taste in our mouths.”
MICHELANGELO MISTRETTA
In his first season in the top Italian league and with the yellow and black shirt, Michelangelo amazed everyone with his performances. Excellent ball carrier, punctual at meeting points and safe in closed scrums. The class of 1998 also chose Viadana for the 2024-2025 season.
“I am very happy to stay in Viadana another year – says Michelangelo – especially for the group that has been created between players, staff and club. I think it’s important to still remain united to be able to take away the satisfaction that this year was just missing at the end.”
PATRICIO BARONIO
Smart and fast, this is Patricio Baronio, the scrumhalf born in 1996 who has become a strong point in Gilberto Pavan’s formations. The former pumitas is the third confirmation of Rugby Viadana 1970 for the next season.
“I am very happy to renew for another year with this company – says ‘Pato’. This year has been very special and I want to thank all the fans who have supported us from the beginning. Now is the time to recharge the batteries with the family and be ready for the new season which is already upon us.”
ANDREA BRONZINI
Viadanese DOC, Andrea, after a few seasons away from Viadana, decided to return home last year. A winger who makes physicality his strong point, his devastating impacts earned him a starting place in the season just concluded. Andrea will wear the Rugby Viadana 1970 shirt for another season.
“Beyond the result obtained in the final, it was an incredible year – Bronzini also confirms. This success is certainly thanks to a young but competent staff who worked tirelessly to create a cohesive group and to support it. Special thanks go to our fans, who in recent months in particular have proven to be a true sixteenth man on the pitch. The team was very proud, and all of us players are very grateful to have had their great support.”
