Another news story in the streets of the Roman nightlife. An operator Or was attacked and injured yesterday, around 3:30 in the morning, at the end of his work shift. The incident occurred in a central and very busy area: that is, in via Induno, near the Troisi cinema, in the neighborhood Trastevere.
The 61-year-old municipal waste employee was on his way to the San Giovanni subway stop to return home after his shift when he was shot several times by at least five unknown assailants who then fled. The Carabinieri intervened on the scene.
THE OUTCOME
Moments of terror for the operator who, after the attack, was rescued and transported to Fatebenefratelli, being discharged in the following hours. Due to the injuries sustained, the doctors found a prognosis of seven days. “We express maximum solidarity, also on behalf of the entire company, to our assaulted colleague”, declared the president Bruno Manzi and the general manager Alessandro Filippi, before adding: “Thanks to the police forces who promptly intervened and to the health personnel who provided first aid to our operator”.

THE DECLARATION
Mayor Roberto Gualtieri also spoke on the issue: «I express my most sincere solidarity and closeness to the Ama operator, victim of a violent attack in Trastevere during his work shift. An episode of unacceptable violence. I am sure that the police, whom I thank for their prompt intervention, will bring those responsible to justice.” While the president of the Giulio Cesare chamber Svetlana Celli spoke of «great indignation for this episode of violence which we strongly reject and condemn. There is no place in Rome for any type of violence.”
Unfortunately, this is the latest case in a string of assaults involving people in the line of duty. For example, at the end of May the case of an Atac driver attacked by two people who wanted to get off first and on the same day an employee of the Rome services infopoint was attacked at Termini station. A few days later, another attack against an Atac driver who had broken up a dispute on the Togliatti.
