Other marathon and another match ended late at night at Roland Garros. In the round of 16, number 4 Alexander Zverev defeated number 13 Holger Rune with a score of 4-6 6-1 5-7 7-6 6-2 in a match that ended at 1.40 in 4 hours and 11 minutes of play.

First set decided by a break in the fourth game with Rune who went ahead 3-2 and then completed the first set with a score of 6-4. Not even time to leave second set and the Dane lost serve in a rough game with Zverev breaking away at 2-0.
Zverev then closed the second set with a score of 6-1. The first to put his head forward in third set it was Rune (2-0) but Zverev promptly returned in the set which followed the serves up to 6-5 for the Dane.
Here the number 4 seed in the tournament played a disastrous game, losing serve at fifteen with a wide backhand volley on the second set point. 7-5 Rune, up two sets to one. The fourth set it opened with breaks and counterbreaks but it was Zverev who went on the run in the seventh game, broke away at 5-3 but when it was time to serve to take the match to the fifth set he got stuck and lost serve.
The epilogue of the set came in the tie breaks, Zverev was the first to put his nose forward (3-1) and took the lead to 5-1 by dominating the decisive game and won 7-2 and taking the match to the fifth set. Zverev he started with the advantage of serving first.
After coming very close to breaking in the second game (4 failed break points), in the fourth game he went on the run, consolidated the 4-1 lead and closed the set and match 6-2.
