Arriving as a surprise at the end of an authentic blitz at the end of the transfer market, Davy Klaassen he certainly brought European experience to the Inter locker room but in terms of playing time the Dutch midfielder didn’t have much. Not bad, at the end of the season he will add two titles to his already rich personal trophy case. To talk about this Italian experience and the future, FcInterNews.it spoke exclusively to the agent Steinar Dietz: “He’s doing well in Milan, the team is really strong, he appreciates the coach. He is learning Italian, he has adapted very well to Italy. Of course, he doesn’t play a lot, but he is part of a winning team, where there is the right competition to take the field.”
Why did you choose Inter?
“The answer is easy. You don’t choose Inter. Inter chooses you and you say yes. It is one of the most important clubs in the world, it is a dream to play in Italy. It was all very simple.”
So he’s not ‘angry’ about not playing very much.
“Obviously every footballer in the world wants to play every game, including Davy, so he would like to have more playing time. But he understands the situation, he knows that the team is very strong and he trains every day with dedication.”
Now the focus is on winning the championship with Inter.
“Yes, the primary objective is to win the second star to then be able to see it stitched with the Scudetto on the Nerazzurri shirt.”
Inzaghi also said that Klaassen deserved more minutes.
“Davy has a lot of class and it is normal that his coach could have said these words.”
In Inter there are two other Dutchmen, De Vrij and Dumfries. I guess they gave him a hand.
“Yes, especially Stefan, he helped him a lot, especially with the translations and making Davy understand what Inter is.”
Have you already talked about his future?
“I tell you more than honestly that at the moment he is only focused on the present. He is really, really happy at the Nerazzurri. His focus is on the objective to be achieved with Inter. He actually asked me not to talk about any other possible possibilities that concern him now. He wants to be 100% focused only on winning the Scudetto with Inter. Then we’ll see, he can stay or go, but these are conversations that one will think about in due time.”
