Borgo Egnazia, the resort where the G7 leaders sleep: from Jessica Biel’s wedding to Madonna’s party

Rome, 13 June 2024 – Before Meloni, Biden, Zelensky and the other great leaders of the world gathered to the G7, the Borgo Egnazia resort welcomed names from the American jet set: from Madonna for his 62nd birthday at the ultra-luxury holidays of Beckham in 2021 until, going back in time, at Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s dream wedding in 2012. A mix of rural village, resort and farm, immersed in nature and in the shade of centuries-old olive trees, which convinced the prime minister to use as a location to host the greatest leaders in the world.

The farm

The farmnestled in the countryside of Savelletri of Fasanoin the province of Brindisi, reproduces in every way a typical Apulian village, a rural world immersed in nature and in the shade of centuries-old olive trees and its slow traditions. The complex is composed of three main wings: the courtyard which is composed of 63 rooms that go on 33 to 125 square meters; the village it includes 92 rooms and traditional houses from 42 to 90 square meters; and the houses or the 27 villas and cottagesamong which the widest is large 500 square meters and has 7 bedrooms. We did a simulation and to book a two-night stay in a suite for two in early July you could end up spending around 4,480 euros. In the village there are squares, fountains and many services including swimming pools, three tennis courts and a wellness centre, as well as an outdoor gym, two private beaches, Cala Masciola and La Fonte, as well as the San Domenico Golf, of the nearby Masseria San Domenico. Furthermore, guests have access to starred restaurants, great chefs and housewives to prepare breakfast.

The other VIPs

But the list of VIPs doesn’t end here. They also stayed in Borgo Egnazia Michael Buble, Tom Hanks, Dolce&Gabbana and obviously the Ferragnez. How can we forget, then, the aforementioned Madonna’s birthday: the American superstar with Italian origins had actually already celebrated two other times in Borgo Egnazia, more precisely in 2016 and 2017. It is a place also frequented by Emiri, entrepreneurs and managers from all over the world: the Prime Minister chose it as the location for the G7 after being there on holiday last July.

A turnover of 63 million euros

It was precisely from that place that it all began in 1996: the entrepreneurs Sergio and Marisa Melpignano they multiplied the historic family estate, in what then, in 2010, will be Borgo Egnazia. A structure that, alone, generates a turnover of 63 million eurosgrowing – thanks to the G7 effect – by 20% in 2024.
