Fedez against Marcell Jacobs, the dispute reaches court with a defamation case against the Olympic champion, who now risks ending up on trial for a dispute that originates in 2021. In that year the athlete triumphed at the Tokyo Olympics, winning the gold in the 100 meter dash and the 4×100 relay, becoming a prominent figure in world athletics. His image was managed by Dome srl, a company co-founded by Fedez and managed by his mother, Annamaria Berrinzaghi, and deals with the promotion of brands and public figures.
The complaint
It was Dream of Ordinary Madness Entertainment srl that started the dispute with Jacobs: after relations between the company and the sprinter deteriorated, leading to a definitive break and legal disputes that lasted until the following year, the the champion’s termination of the contract prompted Dome srl to file a civil lawsuit against him. The “misstep” that led to the lawsuit came in 2023, when Jacobs declared in an interview with La Stampa: “In 2018 I entrusted myself to Fedez’s company, I expected that being close to him would give visibility but they never developed there a project.” The rapper’s company reacted by filing a complaint for aggravated defamation.
The investigations
Recently, writes the Corriere della Sera, the Brescia Prosecutor’s Office, through the deputy prosecutor Giovanni Tedeschi, formally accused Jacobs of defamation and filed the notice of conclusion of the investigations. This act usually preludes the request for indictment, which could arrive while the champion, after having replicated the two gold medals at the European Championships in Rome, prepares for the competitions in Paris.
