The actors who will play the Fab Four in the four Sam Mendes biopics have been revealed.
Beatles movies has found its Fab Four for solo biopics. Earlier this year it was announced that the Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes – best known for Skyfall, Specter and 1917 – would direct four films about Beatles, each focusing on a different member of the band: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. The ambitious four-part cinematic event is expected to begin production in 2025 and be released in 2027.
Now Mendes might have found its stars for his Fab Four films. According to InSneider, the cast of Beatles films consists of Harris Dickinson (The Warrior – The Iron Claw) as John Lennon, Paul Mescal (Strangers) in Paul McCartney’s, Barry Keoghan (Saltburn) in that of Ringo Starr and Charlie Rowe (Neverland – The True Story of Peter Pan) in that of George Harrison. The rumor has not been confirmed by Sony, the studio that made the Beatles films.

The film
Mendes will direct all four films and will narrate the related stories between them, each from the point of view of one of the group members. For the first time Apple Corps Ltd and the stars Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, in agreement with the families of John Lennon and George Harrison, have granted the rights to use the band’s music and agreed to have their story told on the big screen.
The director explained to Deadline: “We went to Los Angeles just before Christmas to pitch the project and it’s fair to say there was a universal enthusiasm. The reason we chose Sony among the various competitive offers is linked to Tom Rothman and Elizabeth Gabler’s passion for the idea and commitment to bringing these films to theaters in an innovative and exciting way“.
Sony boss Tom Rothman said Mendes is considering filming in the UK around mid-2025 and that, yes, all four films will be released in 2027. Each of them should be distributed in winter, spring, summer and autumn respectively.
