Alex Britti returns to speak with an open heart: after the release of the single “Uomini”, the singer-songwriter talks about his love for his son, Edoardo.

At 55 years old, Alex Britti it has not lost the uniqueness that has always distinguished it: above all, it has never stopped, despite some periods of ups and downs. Music, of course, is still a fundamental element in his life: at the end of May “Men”, the long-awaited new single. There is one thing, however, that has displaced his work from the exact center of his existence: the love for his son, who is called Edward like his friend Bennato, and for the past 6 years he has changed his life for the better.

After a period of silence, Alex Britti is back to make us sing with a new single: it’s called “Men” and the singer-songwriter presents it as “a treatise on the social role of male”. The song, released on May 24th on all platforms, precedes the new album long awaited by the singer’s fans, and is described by the singer himself as “a song that talks about us males, about how fortunately today we are much freer than in the past”.
Although, we must say, it is unlikely that it will be able to compete with the brand new ones summer hits freshly baked, like that of Alessandra Amoroso and Big Mama. For Britti, however, this will not be a problem: she has always declared that she feels completely like an artist different from all his colleagues, failing to fit into a category.
In “Men”, Alex writes about the modern man, who is finally a source of inspiration, has freed himself from old stereotypes and is more free from every point of view: “all the barriers have broken down”, he says, although this opinion may not be agreed upon by many. On the gender freedomHowever, says the artist, there is still a lot of work to be done, even if it seems in part that society has managed to free itself from classification.
A theme that he, personally, made his own by deciding to deal with it himself son on a par with ex-partner Nicole: “but don’t call me mom”, he warns.

He doesn’t like the term.”mommy”, Alex Britti, and the reason is easy to say: to date, the role of fathers has evolved to equal that of the mother in terms of responsibility in the relationship with children.
An experience that the singer-songwriter lived firsthand with Edward6 years old, had a brief affair with his ex-partner Nicole: “When he was born, valves turned on in me that worked perfectly”, says Britti, adding that he is not the only one, “I have shared custody and when I go to school I meet many other fathers”.

A will, that of fully living its role as fatherwhich was born from the beginning in a very natural way: “I never felt like I was making a sacrifice,” he says, adding enthusiastically, “Fatherhood is cool, it completes you”. And Alex wants to live this experience to the full: Edoardo is at center of his life, he could not imagine an existence far from him.
“We have intimacy and complicity in everything”, he says: their relationship is certainly destined to grow and strengthen over time.
