Difficult situation at the Italian box-office, where another weekend in June passed with decidedly low takings: only 2.4 million euros collected in four days, up compared to a week ago but down sharply compared to last year and the period pre-pandemic. The problem is always the same: the scarcity of American products, not surprisingly the release of Inside Out 2 it is highly anticipated by merchants.
In reporting the weekend’s data, we remind you that Thursday was the last day of Cinema in Festa, therefore with a promotional price.
Leading the ranking we find Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which debuts with 838 thousand euros in four days, in line with what the third film grossed in 2020 (885 thousand euros). That film was stopped by the lockdown at a total of 1.4 million euros.
Second position Kinds of Kindness, which grosses 256 thousand euros and thus rises to 902 thousand euros in total. In third place, just a hair’s breadth away, Me against you the film – Operation spies he collects 255 thousand euros, rising to 2.2 million euros: the midweek after school closures should help push him over two and a half million at the end of the race.
Fourth position for The Watcherswhich grosses 142 thousand euros and rises to 532 thousand euros in total.
Three new releases follow, starting with The Art of Joy – Part Two, sixth with 103 thousand euros (the first part had opened with 136 thousand euros). In seventh place The Animal Kingdom opens with almost 100 thousand euros, followed by The Chosen – Ep. 1-2: the religious television series is a case in the United States, and also in Italy it performs with a good average, grossing 69 thousand euros in just 39 cinemas.
