The current Marvel Cinematic Universe is certainly not the most serene environment in the world: the franchise is probably experiencing its first real crisis since its debut on the big screen, and this cannot fail to be reflected in projects like that Blades which, as we well know, is going through a gestation that to define as difficult would be an understatement.
In fact, just yesterday the withdrawal of the second director of Blade was announced, who therefore finds himself once again in the situation of having to hunt for someone who decides to sit behind that dreaded camera. A paradoxical situation, as evidenced by the words released in these hours by the lawyer of Mahershala Ali.
“That deal was made in 2019 and they haven’t shot it yet, it’s about the craziest thing that ever happened in my professional experience” confessed Shelby Weiser, the lawyer entrusted with protecting the interests of the actor who should star in the highly anticipated film about the Marvel vampire hunter.
Blade, we remember, has already made his appearance in the MCU on finale of The Eternals, when the character’s voiceover closed the film with Kit Harington: since then, however, chaos has reigned supreme. Will poor Mahershala Ali’s character ever see the light of the big screen? We really hope so!
