The Lady of the Rosesthe plot

Catherine Frot is Eve Vernet, ahorticulturist who – to honor his father’s legacy – carries on the family business, growing unique roses which color shop windows throughout France. However, due to her approach to work, Eve struggles to keep up with the mass production of rival companies. When her small business ends up on the brink of bankruptcy, her trusted secretary, Vera, has an intuition: to try to save the situation, hires three new employees from a prison rehabilitation program, without saying anything to Eve. Fred, Samir and Nadège are misunderstood outcasts. They have brilliant ideas, a strong work ethic, but are completely unfamiliar with gardening. However, the boys will be able to come up with an ambitious (and risky) plan to revive the fortunes of the business. And Eve will discover a new way to live life.

Heartwarming and light-hearted comedy, The Lady of the Roses has a soul vintage, thanks to the setting in the world of flowers. The young director Pierre Pinaud directs a cast headed by the famous French actress Catherine FrotCesar Award for Family atmosphereand famous for films that criticize the bourgeoisie in an irreverent way, from The idiots’ dinner to A female relationship – La Nouvelle Evè.
