The accident on the A4 in Cessalto (Treviso)
It happened early in the morning, around 8 am on Tuesday 30 April 2024, a double accident on the A4 motorway in Veneto, towards Triestein the section between the Cessalto junction, in the province of Treviso, and that of San Stino di Livenza, in the province of Venice.
According to the first information gathered so far, they would have remained in the first accident at least two heavy and three light vehicles were involvedfollowing which traffic came to a standstill, causing long queues to form.

Shortly thereafter, right along one of the columns of cars that had developed, it happened a second collision involving two other heavy vehicles. This second accident further worsened the traffic situation on the route.
Rescue on the motorway
They therefore intervened on the section affected by the accidents the staff of the Autostrade Alto Adriatico concessionairethe 118 health workers, the firefighters, the traffic police officers and the mechanical emergency vehicles necessary for clearing the road surface.

Among all the people affected by the two accidents there was only one injured, whose conditions fortunately are not considered serious.
As if the traffic situation on the A4 motorway wasn’t already complicated, one of the trucks involved in the accidents lost a load of paper, which spilled onto the roadway, further worsening the condition of the queues.

Following the two accidents, the Autostrade Alto Adriatico concessionaire communicated the closure of the road section between San Donà di Piace and Cessaltoin the direction of Trieste, reporting the presence of several kilometers of queues.

The first accident occurred at km 425 of the A4, while the second occurred a short distance away, at km 433. Precisely on the affected section, the Concessionaire defined the traffic as “blocked”.
Stopped motorists will therefore have to wait patiently the end of the reclamation and safety operations of the roadwayas well as the findings of the police forces, necessary for the reconstruction of the dynamics of the accidents.
