The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story, the creators speak: “We need more models of masculinity” | Cinema

Yesterday there Sony Pictures Animation and the Sony Pictures Imageworks have released the brand new original short film set in the Spider-Verse of Spider-Man titled The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story (you can watch it here).

The short was born from the collaboration between Sony Pictures Animation And Imageworks with the Kevin Love Fund in favor of a mental health project. It was developed and produced on the occasion of the opening of a new special program entitled LENS (Leading and Empowering New Storytellers) which aims to provide its candidates from underrepresented groups with highly valuable experience in the field of animation for nine months.

Love spoke about the lesson on mental health accessible to all online and modulated on the history of Miles Moralescalling the character a role model for younger generations.
