THE EAGLE – Omio, the booking platform for trains, buses, flights and ferries, has published for the second consecutive year the ranking of the cheapest beaches in Europe, thus revealing which destinations offer shelter from the summer heat at particularly affordable prices. The research has analysed data such as visitor reviewsthe temperature estive hey sales prices and rental of essential beach goods such as:
- beach lounger with umbrella (daily rental)
- ice cream (one scoop)
- water (1.5 l)
- beer (0.5 l)
- spritz (0,45 l)

The cheapest beach is in Spain
The large urban beach of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, is the best place to seek shelter from the heat in summer 2024. The cost of a sun lounger with umbrella is only €3. The scorching heat typical of cities will be just a distant memory here: Las Canteras Beach it is constantly caressed by a pleasant Atlantic breeze and boasts an average temperature of 21°C in the shade. The beach bar is relatively cheap with its beers at €3.50 they spritz a 6 €.
Lo Scoglio di Monterosso is the best beach in Italy
Italian beaches are particularly popular in the holiday season, and two of the most popular summer destinations are Monterosso Rock in the Cinque Terre and the Samson Beach on the island of Elba. In Monterosso a sunbed with umbrella costs only €10 per day, a scoop of ice cream €2 and a spritz €6.
To find cheaper umbrellas and sunbeds you have to go to San Vito Lo Capo Beach in Sicily and Margaret of Savoy in Puglia (€5). The average price of a sunbed on Italian beaches is €14.90 this summer, with peaks of €40 on Marina Piccola beach a Capri.
The beaches with the cheapest spritz are those of Rimini and Monterosso (€6), while a Positano the price of the famous cocktail reaches €9. Ice cream is also particularly expensive on the Amalfi Coast, costing at least €3.50 per scoop.
