WEDGE “Thanks to the Government’s commitment to citizen safety, there are 4,800 new operators, including policemen and carabinieri, who are taking up service in our country in recent days. The provision also includes 10 new officers for the Cuneo Police Headquarters”.
This is what the Cuneo Senator of the League Giorgio Maria Bergesio said, commenting on the recent initiative of the Ministry of the Interior, which provides for the sending of 4,800 new law enforcement officers throughout Italy.
“The safety of citizens is a priority for the Government and for the League, which has been working on these issues for some time – continues Bergesio -. Hence the decision to further increase the number of operators. They will be assigned not only to large cities but everywhere”.
1,000 more new units will arrive in the metropolitan cities. Of these, in particular, 221 will be assigned to Rome, 100 to Naples, 87 to Florence and Milan, 74 to Bari, 65 to Venice, 45 to Bologna, 50 to Turin, 30 to Reggio Calabria and 10 to Cuneo. And a reinforcement of over 2,000 operators is also expected in the major tourist locations.
“Significant numbers, which are added to the significant increase in staff already achieved in 2023 and in the first half of this year”says Bergesio again. He concludes: “I thank Minister Matteo Piantedosi, Undersecretary Molteni and the Government, who with these measures have once again been able to give concrete answers to the needs and emergencies, often ignored in the past, of our country, also increasing the staff of the Police Headquarters of the Province of Cuneo”.
