Busy Sunday for the Venice Coast Guard

At approximately 11:40 the Operations Room of the Venice Port Authority received, on the emergency number 1530, a request for assistance from a sailing vessel with two people on board, in the waters in front of the Hotel Excelsior in Lido, in difficulty due to a broken mast. The dependent M/V CP 833 was immediately diverted to the point, which was engaged in the usual summer patrol as part of the “Mare Sicuro” operation.

Once on site, the military managed to secure the unit, which independently, escorted by the M/V CP 833, managed to return towards Sant’Elena.

Subsequently, at approximately 13.00 the Operations Room of the Venice Port Authority received, via radio on channel 16, a request for assistance from the organisers of the “XI Monaco Principality Trophy” Sailing Regatta which was taking place.
