First film Friday 5th July: “Grazie ragazzi” by Riccardo Milani, with Antonio Albanese, Vinicio Marchionni, Liliana Bottone, Giacomo Ferrara

Returns on Fridays in July”Cinema under the stars”, a film festival that the Association MenteInPace offers in the summer, since 2011, at the park “La Pinetina” in via Bongioanni corner of via Riberi. Four films, for four evenings to spend together, that talk about marginalization and redemption, about meeting and listening, about contemporary fairy tales and the search for one’s place in the world.

The screenings will begin at 9.30pm with free entry. In case of bad weather the appointments will be at the Casa del Quartiere Donatello in via Rostagni 23.

The event is part of the “AttraversaMenti” project which includes theatre and cooking workshops, outings useful for getting to know the area: socialising activities dedicated to people being treated at the Mental Health Service of Cuneo and aimed at strengthening their self-esteem and autonomy to help improve their quality of life.

The project is organized by MenteInPace in collaboration with the SSMentale ASL CN1 Day Center, the Municipality of Cuneo, Casa del Quartiere Donatello, the Donatello and Gramsci neighborhood committees, the Momo and Proposta 80 social cooperatives, the Amnesty International and Ariaperta associations, US Acli, with the support of the CRC Foundation and CSV Società Solidale.

First film Friday 5 July: “Thank you guys” by Riccardo Milani, with Antonio Albanese, Vinicio Marchionni, Liliana Bottone, Giacomo Ferrara.

The plot: Antonio, an unemployed actor in crisis, agrees to lead a theater workshop inside a prison. Very doubtful at first, he finds talent in those unlikely actors and this rekindles his passion. He decides to stage Waiting for Godot and manages to obtain permission to perform the play outside of prison, in the theater. Day after day the “actors” will discover the liberating power of art and will find purpose and hope beyond waiting for the end of their sentence.
