The streets were clear of vehicles as early as the early afternoon today, Saturday 29 June, when the series of parking bans related to the Tour de France stage that will start in Piacenza on Monday morning began. “I would like to thank the people of Piacenza – says Mayor Katia Tarasconi – for the truly commendable collaboration that they have shown and are showing on the occasion of this extraordinary event, the most important ever organized in our city”. And she continues: “We are talking about the third most important sporting event in the world and the eyes of the main international media will be focused on our splendid city. A unique, unrepeatable occasion for which we have done our utmost as a municipal administration; an occasion that the vast majority of citizens are also aware of, and the collaboration shown in these hours is proof of this”.

«We are perfectly aware – adds Mayor Tarasconi – that an event of this kind brings with it a series of inconveniences linked to road traffic and this is why our offices took action in time to communicate the route and the various prohibitions that will remain in place. in force until early afternoon on Monday. However, the response that the local police are having at this time was not obvious: practically every street affected by the extraordinary parking bans was clear at the pre-established time. Thank you very much and we hope to find the same collaboration in the next few hours, which is a fundamental piece in the success of the event.”
