Montesilvano, June 29, 2024 – The philatelic counter of the Montesilvano Spiaggia post office (Corso Umberto I, 34) was inaugurated today, Saturday, June 29. The small presentation ceremony was attended, among others, by the provincial director of the Pescara branch Pio Violante and, representing the national structure of Philately, Roberta Sarrantonio. Ottavio De Martinis, mayor of Montesilvano and president of the Province of Pescara, also spoke at the event. This is a dedicated counter, where philatelic products such as stamps, postcards, folders, collections and other collectible material are available. Among these, also the stamp dedicated to the City of Montesilvano, issued last May 31 by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, together with the related philatelic products. “With the new philatelic counter of Montesilvano – commented Roberta Sarrantonio – we strengthen our presence in the province of Pescara. The counter, in fact, is added to those operating in Pescara in the post offices of Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via Cavour and in Penne. A space designed for the citizens of Montesilvano, for collectors and for all those who wish to approach the fascinating world of philately”.

“After the official presentation ceremony of the stamp which belongs to the thematic series “natural and landscape heritage” dedicated to the city of Montesilvano – said the mayor Ottavio De Martinis – today we experienced another important moment for our city with the institution of a philatelic counter. For this I thank Poste Italiane and all those who worked for this opportunity donated to Montesilvano, a modern city, one of the most famous and popular seaside tourist destinations on the Adriatic coast, the third largest city in Abruzzo and an important national reference point not only as regards summer tourism but also trade fair-congress tourism, capable of hosting sporting events of international importance”.

The Montesilvano Spiaggia philatelic counter will be available, starting from Monday, July 1st, according to the usual post office hours: from Monday to Friday from 8.20 to 19.05 and on Saturday from 8.20 to 12.35. Throughout the Abruzzo region there are 14 active philatelic counters, present in the main cities.
