The renowned director and author Carlo Tedeschi returns to Rimini with “Summertime Show”, in collaboration with the RDL company, creating a new show produced by the Leo Amici theatre in Rimini. After the successes of the past seasons, the director, fresh from the Cannes Film Festival, proposes, with the directing assistance of Annamaria Bianchini, a new captivating journey that in almost two hours of show wants to take you to the meeting between the big screen and musical theatre. The plot starts from the events surrounding “The Broadway Melody”, the first musical film narrating the behind the scenes during the preparation of a show. Released in 1929, it was the first successful musical at the cinema, the first in technicolor and the first to win an Oscar. Tedeschi’s show, starting from this success, tells the process of contamination between cinema and theater up to the present day, using engaging scenes, timeless pieces, such as the music of Gerswin, Lyod Weber, Harry Warren, Osvaldo Farres, Marvin Hamlisch and many others, and where the Italian melodic tradition also finds space. The company will include successful theater actors such as Francesco Troilo di Carlo, Giada Mecozzi and Carmine Passaro. Guest of honor for some dates of the show will be Gessica Notaro, a famous activist against gender violence as well as an artist, singer and dancer. The shows will be held at Lake Monte Colombo in the Leo Amici theater, every Wednesday evening at 9:30 pm, until August 28. (Francesco Drudi)
