PERUGIA, 29 JUN – The actress Laura Morante received in Perugia, as part of the Love Film Festival, the Golden Griffin for Best Performer “Marcello Mastroianni” for her performance as Alda Merini in the TV film Folle d’amore per la directed by Roberto Faenza, broadcast on Raiuno. The awards ceremony – the promoters report – took place in the Palazzo dei Priori, at the end of a meeting with the public moderated by the film critic Fabio Melelli. The award was presented by the artistic director of the Love Film Festival, Daniele Corvi. “I would have liked to play many films full of passion, but it didn’t happen”, commented the actress, referring to the theme of the Festival, this year dedicated precisely to passion. “In auteur cinema, passion is not given much consideration. Instead, when for example I played the great actress Sarah Bernhardt in the theatre, an extremely passionate woman, I had a lot of fun. Or even the women of Greek tragedy, like Clytemnestra, who is my favourite, another woman of passions, in this case terrible ones. Because passion is not necessarily good, it can also be dangerous belong, and emerge unscathed.” (HANDLE).
