Perugia, Albanian arrested after being caught with more than 60 grams of cocaine

Perugia, 29 June 2024 – The Carabinieri of the Perugia station and the Operations Section of the local Company have arrested a 27-year-old of Albanian origins, without a fixed address and with a police record, in flagrante delicto, held responsible for detention for the purpose of dealing narcotic substances and resistance to a public official.

The military, during a territorial control service in the Prepo neighborhood, aimed at countering the various hypotheses of crime that characterize the specific phenomenon, noticed the man who – with a suspicious attitude – at the sight of the military tried to drive away on board a car.

The officers then decided to proceed with his inspection and, having approached the vehicle, ordered him to provide his identity documents, but he suddenly got out of the vehicle and violently pushed the Carabinieri, trying to escape on foot.

After reaching and stopping him, the latter subjected him to a personal and vehicular search, finding – hidden in the man’s underwear – a cellophane wrapper containing 63 grams of cocaine and 950 euros in banknotes of various denominations, believed to constitute the proceeds of the activity illicit, as well as a mobile phone.

Accompanied to the barracks, the young man was declared under arrest for the aforementioned crimes and held in the security rooms of the Carabinieri Provincial Command of Perugia awaiting direct judgement.

At the end of the hearing, the arrest was validated and the precautionary measure of a residence ban in the Umbria region was imposed on the 27-year-old.
