Maurizio Gambini’s third mandate begins with a party in Piazza della Repubblica, attended by hundreds on Thursday, to close the electoral campaign. After a dinner and a performance by Radio Banda and before the DJ set, Gambini went on stage, joined by his wife Germana Meliffi and his daughter Lucia, to thank the supporters: “Finally our city is officially the provincial capital and will have an administration made up of the bodies expected for a capital. We are really proud to have brought home this result, which will be decisive for the development of the city, the community and the territory, in particular the internal areas to continue, we will continue to work to unite.” Once the party was over, however, a protest also arrived, launched on social media by Federico Scaramucci, after one of the celebratory t-shirts printed for the occasion was hung during the night by someone on the door of the shop of Enrica Ubaldi, sister of Giorgio, secretary of the city’s Democratic Party: “Attaching the t-shirt to the shop of a person who doesn’t think like you is like branding them, denigrating them, it’s like saying “we’re in charge and you’re worthless” – he writes –. Whoever says they’ve made history must also let us study that story. Even if the recent elections did not go as we hoped, I think that the people of Urbino will soon tire of this story. Solidarity with Enrica (who among other things founded the Urbino traders’ association, and I would be curious to know what the current management thinks) and Giorgio”.
