News from the opposition benches in the City Council: Gian Marco De Biase (photo) leaves Bologna ci piace, the group born from the list of former mayoral candidate Fabio Battistini who in 2021 led the center-right in the challenge against the current mayor Matteo Lepore. “I made this decision halfway through the legislature – explains De Biase – because I no longer share the political choices and the modus operandi of Bologna ci piace”, which in the hall of Palazzo D’Accursio also expressed the councilor Samuela Quercioli. “These critical issues led me to the choice – continues the councilor – to join the mixed group identifying myself with the civic movement Al centro Bologna”, as De Biase had already done in the previous mandate after running on the Insieme Bologna list.
“Obviously I will continue to oppose the vision of this administration – states the civic – if it continues to have its center of gravity so far to the left, also because it lives almost exclusively on announcements and slogans, leaving aside the real problems of the city downstream and effectively abandoning that whole world productive and socio-cultural defined moderate which is the backbone of our community. That world of which I will continue to be the spokesperson in the ways that are allowed to me”. From now on “I will therefore refer to the civic movement of which I have been president since 2019: Al centro Bologna”, concludes De Biase.
“I take note of the choice of councilor De Biase, with whom I have shared all the choices of these years of working together – Quercioli’s words –. I confirm my commitment to Bologna. We like it, convinced of the importance of civic projects like that of Fabio Battistini, who contributed to bringing significant representation from civil society to the City Council”.
