First session of the civic council yesterday, after the elections, in the council chamber of the town hall, between stifling heat and some fans. With the mayor Davide Malvisi all the elected councilors: for the majority, Lorenzo Cantini, Alessio Rollo, Alessandra Narseti, Fabio Bonatti, Claudio Rossi, Alessandra Busani, Alessandro Stefanini, Davide Rastelli, Rita Sartori, Michela Franchi, Alessia Frangipane. For the minority, Luca Pollastri, Nicholas Jeffrey Bernardi, Giuseppe Comerci, Gian Franco Uni, Daniele Aiello. At the beginning of the session a minute of silence was observed in memory of Massimo Tedeschi, mayor of the city for ten years, deputy and president of the European association of the Vie Francigene.

He also received a heartfelt round of applause. Then the general secretary Luigi Terrizzi proceeded with the appeal. Senior councilor Lorenzo Cantini then opened the session and said he was excited about this new and exciting adventure. The secretary also continued with the examination of the conditions of those elected to the office of mayor and councilors, to verify whether conditions of incompatibility were present. No impeding elements emerged and therefore the session began. Mayor Davide Malvisi, wearing a tricolor sash and full of emotion, continued with the swearing-in ceremony, amidst applause. «It is not without emotion – explained Malvisi among other things – that I am preparing to officially launch this mandate during which the objective is to open a new phase for Fidenza, a phase in which, making my own, the intervention that Don Ciotti made at the Magnani theater, from the “I” we will work thinking of the “we” as the subject of the action. There will be an “us” community of Fidenza, an “us” city council and, obviously, an “us” administration, but the common thread will be that of a paradigm shift that will bring us all together to work for the good of Fidenza, each one respecting the roles and prerogatives with which we have been invested by the popular vote. Political and personal differences don’t scare me, I believe in people and for this reason I’m used to valuing differences.”
“I think it is also evident in the composition of the team of councilors who will accompany me in this adventure. Different people, with very different histories, ages, skills. But you can also appreciate it by evaluating the heterogeneity of the lists that supported me in the electoral campaign that just ended, not to mention the wide diversity that characterizes the candidates who made up my own list. People, not labels. This is my belief. And this council is made up of people with whom I want to work for the next five years for the good of our community.”

Then the president of the city council was appointed, unanimously, Alessandro Stefanini. Daniele Aiello, from the minority, was nominated vice president, with fifteen votes out of sixteen. Stefanini thanked those who supported him and Rita Sartori, who preceded him in the role of president of the city council. «For me the Democratic Party was a school of life and politics. I am also secretary of the PD section which I will continue to hold until we find a replacement. I hope that the city council will always be present, except in cases where needs arise that prevent it.” Daniele Aiello also said he was excited to «return to that same bench on which he had already sat previously. He will be a rigorous and incisive political exponent, who will commit himself to total impartiality.”

The group leaders were then appointed: for the majority, with all the lists that merged into a single one, Davide Rastelli was designated. For Rete Civica – Missione Fidenza, Luca Pollastri, for Fratelli d’Italia, Gian Franco Uni and for Forza Italia, Giuseppe Comerci. The group leaders spoke and all agreed that they wanted to work for the common good, without unnecessary personal rivalries.
