The panels that make up the writing lasted more or less a week brand “Napoli”large artistic installation located in Town Hall Square to welcome tourists visiting the capital of Campania. Yesterday, Thursday 27 June, all the panels that make up the word Naples were damaged by the sun and high temperatures and, late this morning, they were removed for repair.
It is not known when the installation will be restored and, above all, if it will be decided to change the position of the panels, to avoid that, even in the future, since summer is still in full swing, they could be damaged by the heat; in fact, this coming weekend, in Naples there are expected heat waveswith temperatures that could even reach 40 degrees.
The large installation, inaugurated just on June 21st. it was created by the architect Marco Tatafiore. It is made up of 12 panels: six which make up the writing Napoli. On the other six, however, distinctive and characterizing elements of the city are depicted: pizza, Vesuvius, Palazzo Donn’Anna, the Toledo station of Line 1 of the metro, the Fontanelle Cemetery in Rione Sanità and the murals of San Gennaro by Jorit in via Duomo and Maradona to the Quartieri Spagnoli.
