Carabinieri stop a 50-year-old man following an order from the Court of Trani
The Carabinieri of the Tenenza of Bisceglie have arrested a man of Andria origins for attempted multi-aggravated extortion against a local entrepreneur.
The soldiers of the BAT Provincial Command arrested a man of Andria origins, in execution of a precautionary measure order issued by the Court of Trani. The 50-year-old man is accused of attempted multi-aggravated extortion against a businessman.
The arrest occurred following an investigative activity conducted by the Bisceglie Carabinieri. The man, invited to a party at a well-known reception hall in the Bisceglie area, allegedly forced the owner of the hall to lock himself in the office with him, preventing him from leaving and demanding the return of a sum of money previously paid by a friend of the owner.
The investigations made it possible to identify the perpetrator of the crime, already known to the police. The man was arrested and was served with a precautionary custody order in prison awaiting trial. The position of the arrested person is currently being examined by the Judicial Authority and the man cannot be considered guilty until a conviction is pronounced.
