ROMA – The new public lighting service of the Capital must be awarded by December 31, 2025, but today the first step towards the renewal of this service was taken. The Campidoglio has in fact approved the guidelines for public lighting aimed at awarding the new service.

WHAT DO THE GUIDELINES PROVIDE FOR

The Captilina Councilor for Public Works, Ornella Segnalini, reported on the guidelines. The Councilor explained that the new service, with the same fee that does not vary from the historical expenditure of Rome Capital, will have a maximum duration of 20 years. The guidelines include the provision of penalties, a rigorous monitoring system, including faults and intervention times, the use of clean energy initially equal to at least 50% of consumption to reach 100% by 2030, smart and dimming systems aimed at both general efficiency and overall energy savings.

THE COMMENT

In a note issued by the Campidoglio, Councilor Segnalini commented on the approval of the guidelines: “The approval by the Capitoline Assembly of the guidelines for the new public lighting is a very positive fact – said Segnalini – Yes these are precise rules so that Romans can be assured of an adequate and efficient service in terms of maintenance and new systems. I thank the Chamber for expressing itself favorably and for always contributing in a decisive way to the well-being of the city”.
