The Teatro Stabile del Veneto is the first in the country. President Luca Zaia made this known on the basis of the data relating to the financing of the Single Entertainment Fund made available by the Ministry of Culture.

“The Italian public theater was born in Veneto at the end of the Renaissance with a precise date and place: 1637 in Venice – Zaia recalls -. In that year, near Campo San Cassian, the first theater open to the public came into being. Today, almost 400 years later, Veneto still excels as the seat of artistic and cultural excellence of the entire nation: for the first time in history, the Teatro Stabile del Veneto is the first theater in Italy”.

“The scores assigned to the Stabile by the Commission of the Ministry of Culture, which assigns contributions from the Single Fund for entertainment – he adds – exceeded 90, thus declaring the Teatro Stabile del Veneto the first National Theater based on management efficiency, to the employment levels of the artistic and technical workers, to the recitative days, to the artistic quality and to the sustainable development actions. It is an absolutely deserved recognition for the capable management governance and the excellent artistic quality of the proposals”.

“We cannot help but say that we are extremely proud of this extraordinary result. As the Veneto Region, we have invested a great deal in the development of one of the most important cultural realities in our territory, with important economic and international prestige repercussions,” concludes Zaia. “I would like to thank and extend my warmest compliments once again to the President of the Fondazione del Teatro Stabile del Veneto, Giampiero Beltotto, for the passion, professionalism and ability demonstrated in carrying forward, with unwavering foresight and critical planning, a program that has strewn the Foundation’s path with extraordinary successes.”
