Nestled among the giant trees that cover the mountain, deep in the ever-changing wilderness, there is a small hermitage: the home of Akeji and Asako. The renowned Japanese painter spends his days walking the forest paths, painting and meditating, while his wife collects plants and produces pigments. They live a life of rituals and routines, alternating with the seasons until they seem to become one with the land around them. The harmony begins to crack when Asako is hospitalized, but the elderly couple has always been aware of the insignificance of man in the face of nature. Enriched by beautiful photography, this delicate and thought-provoking film opens a window to a new state of consciousness.
Directors
Corentin Leconte After studying cinema at the Sorbonne, he devoted himself to films about art and music. He is the author of several documentaries and animated films, and directs several recordings of performing arts.
Melanie Schaan After studying at SciencePo in Paris, she devoted herself to film production. She is a director of creative documentaries and a script and music consultant for performance art shows.
