Recognized as one of the first points of contact for tourists arriving in Marsala, the reception service at the InfoPoint in via XI Maggio will be entrusted to external management. This is provided for in a policy document from the Grillo Council, expressed in a provision that establishes the directives from which the assignment procedures were initiated. “In the field of tourist services, Marsala will make use of professionals in the sector to guarantee a daily and efficient servicesays the mayor Massimo Grillo, entrusting it to third parties is a viable and optimal solution”. Providing useful information on how to get around, booking guided tours, helping to promote events are important activities for increasing the tourist development of the area. If previously all this was provided by municipal employees assigned to the headquarters in Via XI Maggio – most of whom are now in the new Wine Museum, without the possibility of replacing them – the Administration believes that greater efficiency can be achieved with a new configuration of the service, providing for management in collaboration with private entities. The competent tourism sector, directed by Giovanna Basiricò, will now proceed with the assignment of the service to an external manager. This, among other obligations, will have to guarantee the opening of the tourist InfoPoint every Saturday and Sunday, as well as holidays and pre-holidays, also ensuring organizational and management support to the Municipal Administration in the context of the promoted and institutionalized events.
