Banca Annia Padova Women is banking on two talented youngsters for the control room. The setter department of Vincenzo Rondinelli’s team next season will be composed of Marianna Giay, born in 2005 in Turin, and Giorgia Nordio, born in 2004.
Nordio already has experience in B1, where he played with the magic of Conegliano and, last season, of Clodia, but above all he achieved promotion with Altafratte two seasons ago, directed by Rondinelli, who he will find on the bench of Banca Annia: “I am in Padua above all because here I will be able to find Vincenzo, a coach who helped me grow a lot, very good both from a human and technical point of view – she explains – The team has a lot of potential and I am confident, we can do very well”.
Giay, on the other hand, arrives in Padua after three years spent at Cus Torino, between the youth teams, Serie C and Serie B2. For her it is her first experience away from home: «For me coming to Padua is a great opportunity – she underlines – I felt that it was the right time to have this new experience and raise the bar. On a personal level it is a big change, because it is my first experience away from home, but also on a sporting level a great challenge awaits me, in a demanding category and with expert teammates. I’m sure I can grow a lot.”
