Change at the top of the Animalia association: the new president is Andrea Marchionni, former municipal councilor in the previous council term. “Our objective – observes the new president – is to increase the protection of the feline population by increasing feline sterilizations”. Andrea Marchionni has just taken the place of Luisita Galiotto, a veteran in feline protection, who nevertheless remains on the board. “After 12 years as president of Animalia, I thought the time had come for a change, also due to the ailments of age”, declares the outgoing president Galiotto, expressing satisfaction with the choice made by the assembly. Andrea Marchionni accepted the role with enthusiasm. “I am honored by the choice of the members and the trust placed in me by the outgoing president who has done an excellent job in recent years. The daily effort of the volunteers has been remarkable, I hope to be able to contribute to an ever greater collaboration between the association and the bodies, primarily the Municipality and the AST, in order to reduce stray felines and improve the systemic management of cats in the area”. Animalia OdV (photo, the management) is well known in the city for having managed the municipal cattery of Pesaro until January this year. Today the manager of the cattery is Aspes who, with a tender, has assigned the operational management to the T41b social cooperative. Founded in 1996, Animalia has been working ever since for the protection and care of abandoned cats and to combat stray felines.
