The anticipation is rising for the Tour de France to pass through the Forlì hinterland. The first stage of the Grand Départ will take place on Saturday and will connect Florence and Rimini along an up and down route of 206 kilometres. From a sporting point of view, this Apennine crossing will offer 3,800 meters of positive altitude difference, between the rather undulating Valico Tre Faggi pass and some steep climbs. The last of which is in the heart of the Republic of San Marino, just outside the finish line. The first yellow jersey could already be on the shoulders of one of the favorites for the general classification.

The group will enter the Forlivese area between 1.54pm and 2.02pm, preceded at 12.02pm by the advertising caravan. The runners are expected to pass through Giumella between 2.09pm and 2.18pm, then it will be the turn of Premilcuore, Ponte Fantella and Strada San Zeno. Between 2.31pm and 2.43pm there will be the passage to Passo delle Forche (Provincial 24), then you will pass through Galeata along the Bidentina between 2.35pm and 2.47pm and then to Santa Sofia between 2.44pm and 2.57pm. Then there will be a passage over the Carnaio Pass before heading to San Piero in Bagno.

The summit took place in the Prefecture on Monday afternoon to define the appropriate safety and security measures in view of the great sporting event. In the inhabited centers of Premilcuore, Galeata and Santa Sofia and in the provincial roads that connect them (Provincial 3 Del 3, Provincial 24 and Provincial 4 Del Bidente) closure orders will be issued from 11am to 3.30pm. Passage to emergency vehicles will be guaranteed.

“Piazza Gramsci and Via Martiri della Libertà will be closed to traffic, with a ban on parking from 10am to 6pm on Friday and from 8am to 8pm on Saturday”, communicates the mayor of Galeata, Francesca Pondini. The exit of Amadori company employees (at 11.45am) towards the centers of Galeata and Santa Sofia will be managed by the local police station. Furthermore, in Santa Sofia from 6am on Saturday in via Nefetti, near the petrol station and the municipal cemetery, there will be a barrier of around 300 meters on each side, for the sprint arrival. “This will be done while still guaranteeing alternate passage until 11.30 am”, details the mayor Ilaria Marianini.
