As part of the judicial police activity aimed at combating predatory crimes, which the State Police carries out on the communication routes that connect our country, four precautionary custody orders were executed against as many subjects, gravitating in the capital of Turin, believed to be responsible for numerous incidents of theft which occurred in the motorway service areas on the A/4 Turin – Milan.
The facts
The investigation began when a group of four people, on board a stolen vehicle, entering the A4 motorway from the Rondissone barrier, carried out a theft of food products displayed on the shelves located in the commercial establishment of Villarboit south service area, and, after reversing at the Greggio motorway toll booth, committed another theft, again of food products, at the Villarboit north service area.
They were overall six incidents of theft object of the investigation, conducted in collaboration between personnel of the Highway Police Department for Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta and the Highway Police Section of Novara – Novara Est Subsection, with the coordination of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Vercelli. A common element in the various cases currently being examined by investigators is the type of goods illegally removed, consisting of dozens of packages of cheese.
In recent days the four alleged perpetrators were traced in the Turin area and precautionary custody orders were carried out against them consisting of the obligation to present three subjects to the judicial police and the obligation to stay, which was then aggravated in precautionary custody in prison, towards one of them. Further investigations conducted later by the judicial police authorities allowed two other people to be reported at liberty for conspiracy theft.
