The Municipality of Fiumicino gave the green light to the budget change to finance the important extraordinary maintenance intervention, plant adaptation and improvement of the accessibility of the Saxophone Museum.

An ambitious project to enhance cultural heritage

L’Administration of Fiumicino was awarded the tender, obtaining a positive result which marks a significant success. L’councilor for public works, Giovanna Onorati, expressed satisfaction with the start of the project, the result of a long commitment during the first year of his mandate. This initiative not only aims to improve the accessibility and use of Saxophone Museumbut also to enhance the cultural heritage of the city.

Investments and financing for restoration

The necessary intervention, which amounts to €236,590.00, was included in thePublic notice for the valorisation of cultural places in Lazio. This notice allowed the submission of funding requests for various types of interventions, including extraordinary maintenance, improvements for accessibility for people with disabilities and the installation of safety systems. There Lazio region approved the ranking of projects, including the restoration of the Saxophone Museum with a contribution of €189,272.00, corresponding to 80% of the total. The remaining 20%, equal to €47,318.00, will be covered by municipal funds.

The Saxophone Museum is therefore preparing to welcome visits in a renewed and safer context, offering visitors an improved and accessible cultural experience. The project, which will be evaluated in the next City Council of June 28, 2024represents a significant step towards the valorisation and promotion of the artistic and cultural heritage of Fiumicino.
